partnership research
we have been working for several years on the reintegration of spontaneous legumes into oak forest ecosystems as a means of restoring and rehabilitating these forests, which have been aggravated by the latest climate change. Our research focused on abundant legume species in Kroumirie in association with the cork oak. We have shown that this association type can increase soil fertility and thus the primary productivity of the forest ecosystem. Our objectives are to promote oak and legumes association by encouraging its introduction in cork oak populations made more vulnerable by the latest climatic change.
