Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Research (CLAR) one of important research center in Egypt specialized at aquaculture and fisheries. Which participate at strategy of national plan to create new production opportunities for newly graduates and youth as a source of incomes through projects of low economic, rapid return and also develop them to useful level. Decrease the animal protein gap through applied research focusing in sustainable development of aquaculture and fisheries.
The main objectives of CLAR include designing and carrying out research focusing sustainable development of aquaculture and fisheries in Egypt, related to direct general strategy of the country.
Integration with animal and plant production, in order to the food requirements from fish protein, to reach self-sufficient from fish protein sources and export the extra fish production.
Environmental and socio-economic aspects will be considered develop technology transfer methods to targeted organization.
Modify and transfer the researches results and studies to target and policy maker for rural and desert communities' development.
