Adaptability to climatic changes in marginal environments of the agroecological zone in MENA region
Evaluate the potential of local halophytes for wide economic use in the light of the progressive shortage of fresh water resources and soil salinization. Development of the biomass, sequestrating CO2 would be increased by changing the land-uses and enhance the afforestoration techniques in arid regions. Mitigate the coastal ecological hazards of flash flood using innovative technique of planting mangrove and certain halophytes. Adapting to climate change is therefore a common necessity for Mediterranean agriculture.
