Available Research Group with Experience in Plant-Based Protein Powder Production from Byproducts
Our research group is highly experienced in plant-based protein production valorized from different agro-industrial byproducts and is motivated for further collaborations in this subject. Our facilities are not restricted to this subject, but we are ready for other disciplines in food science and technology. Our laboratory has most of the equipment convenient for processes and analyses. Microwave extractor, ultrasound extractor, vacuum impregnation device, spray dryer, freeze dryer, IQF, air blast freezer, HPLC, GC, GC-MS are examples of our equipment. Following are our selected papers: Görgüç, A., Bircan, C., & Yılmaz, F. M. (2019). Sesame bran as an unexploited by-product: Effect of enzyme and ultrasound-assisted extraction on the recovery of protein and antioxidant compounds. Food chemistry, 283, 637-645. Görgüç, A., Gençdağ, E., & Yılmaz, F. M. (2020). Bioactive peptides derived from plant origin by-products: Biological activities and techno-functional utilizations in food developments–A review. Food Research International, 136, 109504. Görgüç, A., Özer, P., & Yılmaz, F. M. (2020). Simultaneous effect of vacuum and ultrasound assisted enzymatic extraction on the recovery of plant protein and bioactive compounds from sesame bran.
