We are coordinating a proposal and need a partner from Turkey, Algeria or Morocco to join our consortium. We are looking for rice agronomists with experience in water management. Availability of experimental plots (field facilities) for conducting field experiments with different water managements. If possible, institutions with close contact or collaboration with rice farm sector and related stakeholders and with well stablished platforms or channels for dissemination and know-how transfer activities.
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ORGANISATION:
IRTA (www.irta.cat) is a research institute owned by the Government of Catalonia (Spain) ascribed to the Department of Agriculture. It is regulated by Law 04/2009, approved by the Catalan Parliament on 15thApril 2009, and it is ruled by private regulations. It is composed of a network of 10 research centres and experimental stations and 3 associated centres all over Catalonia.
Its mission is to contribute to modernising, improving, boosting competitiveness and fostering sustainable development in the sectors of agriculture, food, agro-forestry, aquaculture and fishing, as well as in areas related to the supply of healthy, high-quality foodstuffs to consumers. Last, but not least, is its contribution to food safety and safe processing of foodstuffs and, in general, to enhancing the health and well-being of the population.

The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
