Looking forward to collaborating and cooperating in regional projects that addressing the desertification, drought and sustainable land management in the context of climate change mitigation and adaptation and; development of monitoring systems on soil organic carbon, desertification and erosion.
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ORGANISATION:
responsible for creating and monitoring plans and projects to combat desertification, land degradation and erosion; controlling avalanche, landslide, and flood; integrated basin rehabilitation as well as making national and regional plans, and determining policies and strategies for improving water basins on the basis of basin integrity in order to conserve soil and to improve natural resources. The CEM works mainly in the rehabilitation and restoration of degraded lands, improving the conditions of dependents of those areas throughout the country.
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
