Venetian Cluster is able to involve private and public subjects working in the field of sustainable management and local development, form universities to enterprises that are already working to innovate products and process for more sustainable supply chains. Venetian Cluster counts among its members the 4 public universities of Veneto and the Global Network of Water Museums (UNESCO) and frequently works in research projects in the environmental fields, for example to increase biodiversity through right agricultural and forestry practices, to find innovative materials or processes to lower impacts and sustainable management. Venetian cluster has also developed projects involving the Venetian lagoon, in collaboration with agri-food companies and agricultural agencies.

Venetian Cluster is the only productive cluster of cultural and environmental heritage in Italy. Located in Venice, it coordinates and supports more than 800 private and public companies and 24 research institutes interested in carrying out and promoting innovation projects, technological transfer, internationalisation and training for the development of the productive supply chain in the cultural and environmental field. Venetian Cluster is a recognised RIS3 regional innovative network and has realized more than 90 innovation, policy, research projects for a total budget of more than 50 Million Euro, building strong networks and partnerships with private and public subjects of complementary experiences and know-how.
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
