Agrocluster is a non profit association of companies and organizations from the agro industrial sector, focused on development of the sector and promoting competitiveness. We have 128 members: 101 SME, 8 large companies, 6 Universities, 12 R&D centers. The strategy is based on the introduction of new technologies in the production processes for food preservation, in the valorization of finished products, in the valorization and integration of waste and by-products, the increase of the qualification of the companies and in the foment of the entrepreneurship. With the main objective of fostering innovation and improving the competitiveness of companies aiming to promote their internationalization, seeking to generate synergies between all actors in the sector (more precisely, closer links between companies and educational institutions and R & D). Launched in 2008, already has more than 70 projects of innovation and technological development being executed by its members.
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
