Research theme: WATER RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Climate change combined with ever-increasing water agricultural needs mean that rational water management has become a major challenge to increase agricultural production in situations of limited availability of irrigation water.
Objectives: The objectives of this team are to make farmers aware of the scarcity of water, to assess the quality of groundwater and surface water, to control irrigation systems and to control salinity.
Team Title: ENVIRONMENTAL DIAGNOSIS AND MODELING NATURAL RESOURCES (VEGETATION, SOIL, WATER)
Research theme: The integrated management of soil and water resources requires, among other things, knowledge of their spatial variability which depends on the dynamics of the resource itself but also of the natural or agricultural environment in which this resource is located. .
Objectives: This team aims to conduct diagnostics on the quality of the environment and to apply and develop the tools needed to study the dynamics of natural resources such as: GIS, remote sensing, spatial and temporal modeling.
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
