The Central Board of Users of Vinalopó Region, L'Alicantí and Water consortium of Low Marina Region
The Central Board of Users of Vinalopó Region, L'Alicantí and Water consortium of Low Marina Region ( Spain)is looking to join a working group. They are interested in participating as partner in projects that intends to submit a proposal under PRIMA Programme in the following calls /topics:
1. Management of Water (all topics)
2. Farming Systems (all topics)
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ORGANISATION:
Our Work and activities:
Our objective is to improve water management in our region as evidenced by the completion of the modernization and consolidation of the General Community of Users of the Alto Vinalopó, and is located in the first system of the Júcar basin in terms of irrigation efficiency, reaching 90 to 100%.
With regard to the responsibilities of the Central Board in these reports, they mainly comprise the program for the reduction, monitoring and cessation of groundwater withdrawals.
The Central Board of Users has as its scope of action the Vinalopó - L 'Alacantí system, in the Júcar hydrographic demarcation.
The Vinalopó - Alacantí system is divided into 14 hydrogeological units, five of which are shared with other systems or with other basins. Currently the overexploitation of the aquifers of this system is possibly the biggest environmental problem .

The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
