Our project consortium consisted of 10 partners from 7 Countries is seeking SME involved in production of fruits&vegetables plastic packaging materials to join. We want to develop active biodegradable packaging material that will prevent commodity spoilage and postharvest loss. Coupled with ICT solution it would be real step forward in solving problem postharvest losses that are currently causing annual economic loss of 4 billion €, just in EU.
We encourage SME from both EU and non-EU PRIMA countries to join us and increase strength of our Consortium by providing possibility of practical implementation of our technology and proposing development of their own market - oriented solutions for fruits&vegetables packaging industry where both academic and industry knowledge from different fields (postharvest technology, ICT technology, chemical engineering, and food analysis.) plays a crucial role.
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ORGANISATION:
University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture (FAZ) is the leading higher education and science institution in the field of agriculture and related sciences in the Republic of Croatia. During the past 90 years, more than 12,000 students have received graduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees at FAZ. FAZ mission is to acquire, develop and transfer knowledge in order to educate our students, scientists and experts.
FAZ involves more than 200 researchers and since its establishment in 1919, it is assisting Croatian food sector through dissemination of new technologies, best practices and innovation. Within Faculty departments there are 28 laboratories and 6 experimental stations intended for teaching, and scientific and technical activities. Through international collaboration with Universities and Research Institutions in all over the World, FAZ is capable to be reliable partner for implementing novel technologies and acquiring knowledge for further advancement of agricultural and food sector booth locally and internationally. Many SME have been benefited from consultancy service of FAZ through technical studies and expertise in implementing modern technologies in agricultural production. FAZ has ISO-certified laboratories capable to perform up-to-date analytical procedures necessary for completion demanding EUROPEAN projects.
FAZ has been participated in many H2020, FP7 and LIFE projects as partner or collaborator.
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
