We are a research team working on viticulture and enology. In particular our research focus on table grape breeding, particularly addressed to improve the profile of bioactive compounds in grape berries. We are currently working on the beneficial effects of grape berries on human health throughout in vivo and in vitro studies and nutrigenomics approaches. Our goals include the valorization of local table grape varieties, the development of new improved genotypes, the promotion of grape consumption in the diet. We intend to increase the scientific evidences on the relation between grape berries or grape-based products (i.e. juices, smoothies, jam etc.) and health.
We are looking for research groups interested in the valorization of local grape varieties or other local traditional crops of the traditional Mediterranean diet and/or in the study of the biological mechanisms involved in the prevention of diet-related diseases.
