We need partners in funding unproductive fields and farms. The reason for this farms to be unproductive is because of the lack of knowledge of commercial farming. There is ample opportunities to establish a productive commercial unit on these farms that will be sustainable in future and to create job opportunities in rural areas.
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ORGANISATION:
Increases Energy Trading and Projects source these farms in the Northwest province of South Africa. We do a farm assessment to be able to draw a business plan that is sustainable and profitable. We are responsible for the implementation according to the business plan. We partner with the landowners on a shareholding agreement and manage the farm on a contract basis for a certain amount of time because of a specialized industry. We do provide in-house training in this agreed contractual period. We source for off-take agreements and do marketing of products produced.
Increases Energy Trading and Projects are currently in contract with some of these farms, we are not able to get this farms off the ground because of lack of funding. All financial institutions in South Africa need collateral before financing projects like this and our government do not have the will to finance projects like this because of corruption. This is projects for food security in our country and in future possible for other countries as well.
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
