Role in projects:
a) Collection and analysis of technical/ socio-economic needs of local end-users (e.g. farmers and their associations, Extension Services from agriculture authorities)
b) On-field testing of developed solutions, in cooperation with concerned end-users in rural areas
c) Capacity building, trainings and technolgy transfer towards local end-users
d) Dissemination of project solution and results to local end-users, business and civil society players, national and local authorities
DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ORGANISATION:
NGO active in development cooperation in MENA region since 1966.
Key sector of expertise include: agriculture water management, agronomic practices; improvement of agro-food value chain.
a) Consolidated knowledge of local context of Jordan, Lebanon and Tunisia;
b) Strong relationships with local stakeholders to involve in projects:
national and local authorities (e.g. Ministries of Agriculture, municipalities)
community organisations (e.g. water users / farmers associations)
private companies (e.g. Nur Solar Systems - Jordan, Solaris -Lebanon)
d) Ease to outreach local end-users/beneficiaries for demonstration and dissemination purposes
We have local branches in Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia, that are registered as local organisations. Hence, we could join consortia through our Italian HQ or one of the local organisations according to consortium need.
We have consolidated expetise in EU project management; we have coordinated 2 projects funded under the ENPI CBC MED Programme in the field of agriculture water management.
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
