We seek collaboration for grant applications to promote, standardise and harmonise analytical tools in food authenticity, geographical origin and quality control.
We have a number of established protocols for olive oil. wine, honey, royal jelly, dairy products characterisation.
Our tools include:
1. LC-MS/MS, UPLC-HRMS (untargeted), GC-MS, GC-MS/MS,
2. Databases and sample banks (wine, olive oil, grapa/tsipouro) and
3. a number of chemometric tools and algorithms.
We further aim to generate and validate ca. 20 SOPs tailor made to the need of the food producers sector.

FoodOmicsGR RI boasts 8 Greek Universities and Research Institutes that bring together metabolomics, proteomics and elemental and genomic analytical tools and protocols aiming to characterise local produce and food.
State of the art technologies and facilities coordinated to provide a reference facility for the study of geographical origin, authenticity and promotion of nutritional value of local product.
The facility was launched on January 2019 under a three year development grant. The project involves more than 120 researchers (60 staff and more than 60 new recruits).
