DESCRIPTION OF YOUR ORGANISATION:
MIRRA Website : http://mirra-jo.org
MIRRA, Methods for Irrigation and Agriculture NGO belongs to the Ministry of Environment that was created on September 2007 and based in Amman and Irbid, Jordan .
MIRRA supports the development of the water and agriculture sectors in Jordan and in the region in two major areas:
*Irrigation water management: optimization of pressurized irrigation networks on the field level and on the network level, and wastewater reuse in agriculture.
*Agricultural commodities systems optimization: introduction of new, high-added value crops, amelioration of production techniques, appraisal of horticultural commodity production chain.
MIRRA offers a wide range of services adapted to the needs of the water and irrigation sector's different practitioners (development agencies, farmers, associations, and governmental and non-governmental organisations).MIRRA's Services including Implementation of developmental projects, Provision of technical expertise and consultancy, and Capacity building by training of the practitioners.
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area will devise new R&I approaches to improve water availability and sustainable agriculture production in a region heavily distressed by climate change, urbanisation and population growth
